Steel Erection Rates

At TEC, we’re always striving to improve our processes and procedures to increase production rates. See the attached article from our customer GLY on a study they did recently on a project in Seattle: https://www.gly.com/insights-news/the-best-steel-erection-rates-what-does-it-take

TEC North Satellite Project at SEATAC receives ENR Award

“The North Satellite Modernization Project (NSAT) renovated and greatly expanded an existing airport facility while increasing the number of aircraft gates to 20 from 12. Designed to celebrate the Pacific Northwest, the NSAT is highlighted by an 80-ft high ‘river’ of light, known as the central core.” see article here: https://www.enr.com/articles/55497-best-airport-transit-north-satellite-modernization-project

Erector Proves Speed Predictions for Radical Steel Frame of Seattle’s Rainier Square Tower

With floors 10 and 11 of Seattle’s 58-story Rainier Square Tower under construction concurrently, crews from The Erection Co. are meeting or exceeding speed predictions for the radical composite steel frame’s steel erection, core welding and core concrete casting, says Lance Richotte, TEC’s president.   Through six below-grade parking levels and levels one through nine… Continue reading Erector Proves Speed Predictions for Radical Steel Frame of Seattle’s Rainier Square Tower

Mock-Up Work Raises Confidence In Radical Steel Structure

The steel sector is so excited about structural engineer Ron Klemencic’s composite steel superstructure, expected to speed office tower construction, that at least three steel fabricators are studying it, many months before erection is set to begin on Seattle’s 850-ft-tall “proof of concept.” The team gearing up to build the Seattle high-rise, named Rainier Square… Continue reading Mock-Up Work Raises Confidence In Radical Steel Structure

Rainier Square Erector Says Speed Core Could Rise Even Faster

Since late 2017, the 200 structural engineers at Magnusson Klemencic Associates—headquartered in Seattle’s 40-story Rainier Tower—had front row seats for a construction reality show on skyscraper history in the making. Looking out their 32nd-floor office windows, they witnessed the speedy rise of one of MKA’s cutting-edge projects—the 850-ft-tall Rainier Square Tower. RST’s composite steel frame,… Continue reading Rainier Square Erector Says Speed Core Could Rise Even Faster

Adam Jones: Ushered in Era of Faster-to-Erect Tall Buildings

Audacious Adam is a moniker that fits Adam Jones—often the only steel erector intrepid enough to bid on out-of-the-box structures, such as the ones that shape Seattle’s Spheres and the Seattle Central Library. Speedy Adam is also an appropriate nickname, especially since he made good on his prediction that his crew could top out Seattle’s… Continue reading Adam Jones: Ushered in Era of Faster-to-Erect Tall Buildings
